When questioned regarding the performance driver J Morrison advised that the mare had travelled well during the running however had failed to respond when placed under pressure from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a high heart rate and that the horse had lost a shoe during the running. Co-trainer K Gill advised they would be having blood tests taken from the mare in the coming days and Stewards will follow up the results.

HOOFN IT - swung sideways as the start was effected hampering an outside runner. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. Driver S Trotter was warned for the manner in which he drove passing the 1800m for a distance when failing to concede his position. Mr Trotter was also issued a $100 Minor Infringement Notice for driving with his foot removed from the sulky footrest for a distance rounding the final bend.
